In the
darkness of my arrival late last night, I cradled Pogo (the cat) on my left and
clutched the front door key on my right, when a large furry critter cut across
my path and dodged under the deck. I tucked
Pogo back into the car for safekeeping, entered the house, flipped on the lights
both interior and exterior, and grabbed my flashlight. There he was, a bold raccoon, remarkably the
first one I have encountered here. I directed
my beam at him and stomped around to shoo him away. Cute as he is, that bandit of the night, I
hope he doesn’t come to visit me too often.
